An aspiring drummer suddenly loses her spot in the band. But when a brilliant musician recruits her for his new band, her life takes a passionate turn.
I decided to watch Glass Heart purely because it starred Satoh Takeru, who I like a lot (both for his acting and his looks). In the end I found it an enjoyable and inspiring drama that really made me feel passionate about music again myself. While the indie-rock songs of the band are not something I would generally listen to, I did enjoy them all, mainly for their thoughtful and emotional lyrics, so I will probably check out the soundtrack to hear them in full. The pacing of the show was good and, because this was Netflix, they could adapt the episode length to suit the storytelling, so while most were about 40-45 minutes, one was only 35 minutes and a couple were 50-55 minutes. The cast all gave good performances, and I fell in love with Naoki as much as Akane did. I am giving this one 4.5 stars. Worth a watch for music lovers and fans of Satoh Takeru and/or Machida Keita.
