Evie's long-lost cousin invites her to a swanky English wedding, where she uncovers a dark and twisted family secret that threatens to upend her life. (Synopsis)
I am a big vampire fan, so I naturally gravitated towards The Invitation when I saw it on Netflix. On the plus side, I thought the cast all did a decent job acting-wise, especially the leads. However, the movie overall had quite a few flaws. The script was lacklustre, as was the storytelling; the ending seemed rather too easy for the heroine. I also found her actions in the final scene confusing, but I won't say more on that to avoid spoilers. There was the set up for a decent film here, but the creative team didn't quite pull it off. I am giving it 3 stars. It was okay to watch once, but it was also flawed and could have been done much better. Worth a quick look if you are a vampire fan.
