The Art of Folklore was a delightful book that combined folklore and myth with art. The book was split into sections covering creation myths, quests, supernatural creatures etc. and the stories and artworks came from many countries around the world, making it a diverse and interesting collection. Many myths and stories I knew, but a few I didn't, and each colour image was accompanied by a short paragraph outlining the story portrayed. At the end of the book there was also a bibliography with suggested books for further reading. The artworks included also spanned the centuries for more historical pieces to modern renderings. This was a nice coffee-table read and one that will appeal to art lovers and those interested in folklore and mythology. I am giving it 4.5 stars.
I received this book as a free eBook ARC via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
