When my mother died, I inherited her dive bar and her magic. As well as a duty to protect my hometown from supernatural monsters.
An ancient, bloodthirsty vampire is buried below Crimson. After more than a century, the enchantment that imprisons him is failing. If I can’t fix it, Lazerus Blackmore will rise again… And force us all to kneel before him.
A deadly cult is working to set Lazerus free. Its members have been hiding in the town for years, waiting to strike. Could my neighbors—or even my friends—be taking part in the cult’s dark rituals?
Dark magic is spreading through the streets. As it does, the vampires in town are slowly consumed by bloodlust, turning them to ruthless predators who hunt humans as prey.
I won’t stand by while this ancient evil takes over my home. But as Lazerus finally breaks free, I realize it isn’t Crimson he wants… It’s me.
Bloodlust Storm was an epic and fitting conclusion to the Charley Underwood series. All the various storylines from the preceding volumes came together for a final showdown to save the town. Taken as a standalone, this was not one of my favourite books out of the six, but it did provide a good, action-packed finale that tied everything together without completely ruling out more in the future. It was great to see Charley fully accept her magic at last and use it to good effect. On the romance side of things this is not a HEA, but that didn't worry me since romance wasn't the principal focus of this series. All in all, I am giving this final volume 4 stars, and that would also be my rating for the series as a whole. It is a solid urban fantasy series that should appeal to fans of the genre.
I received this book as a free eBook ARC via NetGalley/the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
