As illegal firearms flood into a gun-free South Korea, a resolute cop and a mysterious partner join forces to stop the chaos from sweeping the nation.
Trigger was a well-paced drama that highlighted some key social issues in Korea against the background of what would happen if guns were suddenly readily available in the country. The premise was interesting and allowed consideration of who might want to take justice into their own hands, from bullied high school students to those robbed by real estate scammers. Given the storyline, this was a fairly dark and violent piece, and the ending could be viewed in two ways depending on whether you wished to be optimistic or pessimistic. The acting throughout was good, though my favourite character was the bad guy as he was the most intriguing (and, on a more superficial note, had the best hair). In the end, I am giving this drama 4.5 stars. It won't be for you if you prefer the lighter, feel-good K-dramas, but if you are into action-thrillers, it is worth checking out.
