TV Review: The Price of Confession (2025) (Thriller)

The Price of Confession (자백의 대가)
2025
12 episodes
MA15+
Thriller
Netflix

Accused of killing her husband, a woman is offered a way out by a mysterious stranger: in exchange for a confession in her place, she must commit murder.

The Price of Confession was a taut and twisting thriller. It was really well written in that the audience was left wondering what really happened for quite a long time until, piece by piece, the truth came to light. Twelve episodes was the perfect length for this and the pacing was well handled throughout. The performances from the cast were awesome, especially Kim Go-eun and Jeon Do-yeon. (I'll be see Jeon Do-yeon (and Hae-soo Park, who was also in this series) in a play next week, so I am looking forward to experiencing their stage acting too.) I enjoyed the gritty vibe in the way this was shot, which had a very filmatic feeling at times. I considered hard the rating of this one, but in the end I have decided to give it 5 stars. While I might not watch it again, I feel like I could do so, and it was a series that kept me on the edge of my seat, deeply invested in the story and characters. Recommended for fans of thrillers with a psychological edge.
