To stop a copycat criminal, a cop must work with the serial killer behind the original murders — his mother who he's spent his life trying to forget.
Queen Mantis was a well-paced mystery-thriller. I have not seen the French original so cannot comment on how close it stayed to the source material, but I found it to be a compelling story with plenty of twists and turns to hold interest. The relationship between the mother and son was well portrayed, with new aspects of their backstory revealed as the show progressed. The cast all gave excellent performances and the cinematography was good. It was not the most visually stunning show, but what was done worked well, and the story was intriguing enough it didn't need any bells and whistles in any case. It was a well-written thriller that was fun and exciting to watch, so I am giving it 4.5 stars.
