Today I am taking part in the New Year Book Tag and I welcome anyone who likes the concept to join in! I am unsure of the original creator, but if you know, please comment below and I will add credit.
The questions for today's tag are:
- How many books are you planning to read in 2026?
- Name 5 books that you didn’t get to this past year but want to make a priority in 2026.
- What genre do you want to read more of?
- Name 3 not-related-to-book goals for 2026
- What’s a book you have had forever and are determined to read?
- One word that you’re hoping 2026 will be
So, without further ado, here are my answers:
How many books are you planning to read in 2026?
I have set my goal as 160 as usual, but I may bump it up if I am clearly going to hit it early.
Name 5 books that you didn’t get to this past year but want to make a priority in 2026.
- The New Seoul Park Jelly Massacre
- The Gods Will Have Blood
- The Songbird and the Heart of Stone
- The City and Its Uncertain Walls
- Salka Valka
What genre do you want to read more of?
I actually read quite widely across genres anyway, so I don't think this one really applies for me.
Name 3 not-related-to-book goals for 2026
- Exercise more (it's on the list every year!)
- Keep up with my language studies
- Undertake some new MOOCs
What’s a book you have had forever and are determined to read?
I don't have a huge TBR pile at present as I always try to clear it by the end of each year, so again I don't have an answer for this one.
One word that you’re hoping 2026 will be: Calm
